Scottish Festival Genealogy Booth

Posted by hrgenealogy on August 11, 2013

Again this year, HRGS had a genealogy booth at the Scottish Festival at Highland Park in Highlands Ranch, August 10 and 11, and it was  a great success!

Thanks to volunteers Jeff Fischer, Eileen Langdon, Florene Moore, Linda and Barry Boyle, Ernie Kummerer, Harry Ross, Laura and Greg Schickendaz, Megan and Caitlin Koepsell, Dave Barton, Deanana Kovavich, and Melanie Taffaro for generously giving their time to help people learn more about their Scottish heritage.

We also created interest in HRGS and in the Scottish Genealogy Class we are having 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 24 at the Highlands Ranch Library. This class will be presented by Diane Barbour, an expert on Scottish genealogical research.  More information about this course will be posted on this site in the next few days. If you have Scottish ancestors, or are just interested in Scotland, please plan to attend.

All volunteers did a great job and enjoyed interacting with those attending the festival who stopped by. We will have a booth at next years festival–please plan to volunteer. We’d love to have you.

Below are photos of this years booth.

HRGS Genealogy Booth at Scottish Festival

Posted by hrgenealogy on August 6, 2012

The Highlands Ranch Genealogical Society was honored to have the privilege of manning the genealogy booth for the Scottish Festival August 4 and 5 at the Highlands Ranch Heritage Park. We were pleased to help those who stopped by with questions about their Scottish Heritage and how to research their family history.
