Scottish Genealogy Class
Posted by hrgenealogy on August 25, 2013
On Saturday, August 24 HRGS presented a class on Scottish Genealogy at the Highlands Ranch Library. Diane Barbour, an expert on Scotland and researching Scottish genealogy, showed us how to work our way back to when our Scottish ancestors immigrated to this country, then explained how to conduct research in Scotland.
Diane graduated from the University of Michigan in Dental Hygiene. June 2012. Her genealogical credentials include the Professional Learning Certificate in Genealogical Studies (PLCGS) from the National Institute of Genealogical Studies at the University of Toronto and a certificate in Scottish Research from the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh, Certificate.
The class gave great information for experienced genealogists and those just getting started. We had a great turnout, with 25 in attendance. Thanks to Lisa Casper and the staff at the Highlands Ranch Library for supporting and promoting this event.
Below are a couple of photos of the event.
