April 2016 Meeting
Posted by hrgenealogy on March 13, 2016
Do you wonder about how to store your “stuff”? Are you confused by the variety of storage containers on the market? Do you know how to prepare for disasters and what to do if one happens? And what about digital stuff? Is your data secure and in a form you and your children will be able to access in the future?
If you are plagued by these questions, or haven’t yet given them a thought, you should come to the next HRGS meeting at the Highlands Ranch Library, 9292 S Ridgeline Blvd, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129 at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 5 for “Clean, Dry, Dark and Cool: Save your family treasures” presented by Shaun Boyd, the President of the Society of Rocky Mountain Archivists and a long-time Douglas County Archivist! Bring your treasures to brainstorm solutions!
Shaun Boyd has been an Archivist with the Douglas County History Research Center at the Library in Castle Rock since 1998. She has an MA in History from Colorado State University and a Master’s in Library and Information Science from Emporia State University. Shaun also attended the Rochester Institute of Technology’s “Preserving Photographs in a Digital World” seminar at the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY. She is the current president of the Society of Rocky Mountain Archivists and a past Secretary of the (National) Academy of Certified Archivists.
Show up at 6:30 p.m. for snacks and conversation. It’s a great way to meet other genealogists and share your research with people who understand the importance of family heritage.
