October 2017 Meeting – Preserving Digital Memories

Posted by hrgenealogy on September 19, 2017

Recovering old photos can be particularly rewarding because it allows us to put faces to the names, and helps us to visualize the world as it once was. To find out how to do this, join the Highlands Ranch Genealogical Society at the Highlands Ranch Library, 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 3 for a presentation by Ed Campbell and Penny Mannel of “A Page is Turned,” on how to restore old photos and more.

There are many ways to utilize images from the past to help bring the stories they illustrate to life. The folks at “A Page Is Turned” are experts in digitizing and restoring many forms of media, from old photos and film to modern video and audio formats. Bringing these precious memories into the digital world allows for a variety of options to help tell the stories that we want to share with family and friends. During their presentation, Ed and Penny will discuss many of the methods that can be utilized to help bring the past to life.

Ed Campbell & Penny Mannel at “A Page Is Turned” have been in the business of helping folks preserve their precious memories for more than ten years. They recognize the importance of the personal nature of their work, and make every effort to meet or exceed their client’s expectations in all aspects of the work they do. Ed has been interested in digital image manipulation since he acquired his first computer in 1983. He has been working with Adobe Photoshop® since 1991, in both personal and professional capacities, and is well-regarded in the field of digital photo restoration.

Show up at 6:30 p.m. for snacks and discussions for fellow genealogists. You never know who might have the solution to your hardest “brick wall.”

See you there!
